What do 5.1 and 5.1.2 mean?

5.1 means five main speakers and one subwoofer. 5.1.2 adds two height channels for compatible immersive audio. We help choose a layout that fits the room instead of simply adding speakers.

Does wireless mean no wires?

No. Wireless speakers still need power, and some systems use speaker wire from an amplifier. Outdoor passive speakers also need a correctly matched amplifier and wiring.

Do these speakers play music directly from my phone?

The passive Elura, Sonance and MartinLogan speakers shown need an amplifier and wiring. Phone control comes from a compatible streaming source or amplifier that we select with the system. They are not self-contained wireless speakers like a Sonos Era.
